Visiting Maropeng in the Cradle of Humankind

Maropeng, the official visitor centre for the Cradle of Humankind World Heritage Site, houses a variety of fascinating exhibitions, appealing to people of all ages. Until 11 October, visitors to Maropeng can view the Homo naledi fossils, which feature in the latest issue of National Geographic.

Tickets to Maropeng will be discounted by 25% until 11 October, and can be purchased online through the Maropeng website. The Maropeng Visitor Centre is open from 09h00 until 17h00 every day.

Maropeng is about 60km from Johannesburg and self-drive is the easiest way to get here. Use the interactive map below to get directions from wherever you are travelling.
